I would like to give Main on Construction and Maintenance a big shoutout. Yesterday, Simon and I visited the refurbishment of the chimney behind the pharmacy building. High-risk work activity involving scaffold, working at height and airborne silica. We were told by MCM that all workers have completed Safework NSW Silica Training. The scaffold was inspected and there were no issues. Some of the affected mortar joints are being removed by a vacuumed attached brick toothing tool. This vacuumed tool eliminates the airborne silica hazard. All workers were wearing PPE.
